Investment Banking Vice President

AQ Technology Partners is a software-focused investment bank headquartered in Silicon Valley. We are seeking a Vice President to join our investment banking team focusing on M&A, growth equity, and strategic advisory for high growth and mature software companies in our Redwood City, CA office.

Our Vice Presidents assume significant responsibility and lead all aspects of the transaction process from initial engagement through closing. Our Vice Presidents work closely with the firm’s senior partners and our clients’ executive team, overseeing the day-to-deal transaction execution while also managing and training the firm’s associates and analysts. Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Partner with senior bankers to provide clients with M&A, growth equity, and strategic advisory services

  • Build and maintain relationships with client executive teams and assume role of day-to-day client contact for questions, comments, inputs and transaction related matters

  • Initiate and manage the development of qualitative and quantitative analyses in support of transaction execution

  • Responsible for modeling complex transaction scenarios and/or the oversight of such modeling among our associates and analysts

  • Participate in selling/pitching AQ’s services/products to clients and prospects, leveraging the understanding of key sector trends and strategic direction of our clients to win business

  • Develop and deliver presentations in support of new business development

  • Manage industry sector coverage initiatives for key software sub-segments

  • Maintain a positive and supportive firm culture, focused on the effective delivery of world-class service to our clients

  • Act as lead “on the job” trainer for associates and analysts

A successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:

  • 4+ years M&A experience and/or multiple years of relevant experience in Investment Banking, with strong preference for technology sector coverage and experience

  • MBA or undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting, Finance, Economics), Technical Sciences (Engineering, Physics) or Liberal Arts from a top tier school(s)

  • Demonstrated capability to lead and manage projects

  • Excellent organizational, execution and time management skills

  • Team player with competitive drive; motivated self-starter with collaborative, team-oriented approach to success

  • Strong communication and presentation skills in both large and small group settings

  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving ability

  • Proven quantitative and technical skills Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

  • U.S. work authorization

  • FINRA Series 63 and 79 registration
